The Magic of Blue Box Recycling System
As we consume all sorts of products and goods everyday, we are directly contributing in the piling up of garbage from soiled cartons, plastics, cans and whatnot in the city. We may not be experiencing it on the onset right away, but sooner or later, repercussions on such act would be apparent in our surroundings.
As part of the City Administration Council, we, at our city have agreed on attempting to reduce the possible effects of accumulated trash in the area by resorting to the blue box recycling technique.
The Introduction of Blue Box
The blue box was initially introduced in the public as a means for waste management system in municipalities to collect as well as separate household waste materials from that of those that can be recycled.
And with the performance of this initiative in most cities and municipalities surrounding the country, the City Administration in our community also embraced this technique and asked for the cooperation of our residents.
For a couple of years now, we have been practicing this waste management system and have brought the community a great deal of environmental cleanliness as well as neatness. With the use of blue box, all residents are able to segregate materials that can be recycled as well as reused thereby reducing the accumulated garbage in the area.
Separation of Trash
For those who are also interested in incorporating this system in waste management, materials that may be included in proper disposal with the blue box are bottles as well as jars for glass category, metal cans, soft drink cans, jar lids, aluminum containers and foil, empty paint cans without lids, aerosol cans and the spiral-wound canisters with metal ends under the metal category.
For the plastic and cartons, on the other hand, items such as household plastic containers from no. 1 to 7 may be included, take-out containers and bakery containers, pails, planting trays, flower pots, clear plastic egg cartons, jars and jugs and tubs and tub lids are also accepted. For cartons, milk and juice boxes can also be disposed in the box.
The blue box recycling can also accommodate empty alcohol containers. It is important to take note, moreover, that non-recycle items that are not considered for the blue box system include ceramics such as cups and dish wares, metal hangers, chip bags and scrap metals as well as Styrofoam containers and packaging and hard plastics products.
The Overall Benefits of Waste Management
With the cooperation of the whole community in this initiative, our city has started to experience the great advantages of the blue box recycling method.
A great deal of help in terms of diversion of waste from landfill, conservation of resources, saving of energy, and overall, contributing to the preservation of the health and beauty of the community has been continuously achieved since then.
Aside from these things, the community is also able to reuse recycled materials in decorating their homes as well as backyards while also being able to help the environment for the benefit of everyone.
